Yep, with but a concept both rocking and profound, Robert Fripp ended the 60s musical haze with blazing guitar, intricate song craft and a sonic vision that could verily taste the 21st century's alternative listening needs. Not an unwrenched note left wanting on ITCOTCK, nary a sound or fury unmolested in its forward-thinking clarity and creative execution: no, this was the musical statement by which all others are still measured. Wish they were coming back to regale TX in their 50th year: alas, long live the crimson king.

The first album released from King Crimson featuring Robert Fripp, Michael Giles, Greg Lake, Ian MacDonald, Peter Sinfield. It is the album that started a whole new style and approach to music that came to be known as Progressive Rock. It features rock, jazz, free form, classical and Eastern influences.
Well received by critics musicians and the public it has withstood the test of time and still sounds phenomenal 48 years after it's release. Still played live by the band it is a crowd favorite for a reason.
Fripp once said in an interview that he meant for it to be the best record ever heard. I think he succeeded.
